Helping Hands Charitable Trust has worked towards providing relief across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) where we have focussed on Thane, Kalyan, Mumbai City & Suburban, Navi Mumbai, Panvel and Bhiwandi. This includes delivering dry ration packages, serving cooked meals at community kitchens, and procuring PPE kits for medical professionals and sanitation workers. Through this process, over the past 4+ months, Helping Hands has also reunited lost children, arranged emergency medical care, helped in providing residential facilities for stranded individuals and procured food for stray animals as well.

HH works closely with Ghar Bachao Ghar Banao, a movement working among the slums in Mumbai to ensure basic amenities and a source of livelihood to augment their resources. Women in the slums have been trained in the art of making handbags and clutches from waste cloth and market them during various events and exhibitions in Mumbai. Additionally, children’s centres have been started in Mankhurd where children deprived of quality education and life, learn as they play and help them become active, responsible citizens. In the past year, Helping Hands has been conducting medical camps twice a month for project affected families displaced and relocated to Mahul. Residents suffer from severe ailments owing to the toxic environment amidst refineries and chemical factories.
